Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Residence Life Community Building Manager III to join our team at St. Olaf College. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our residence halls, including front desk and storage management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor Community Building Assistants to ensure seamless front desk and storage operations
  • Organize and conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss performance, provide coaching, and evaluate progress
  • Schedule and manage front desk and storage shifts, including break periods and academic year schedules
  • Conduct regular inspections of front desks and storage areas to ensure safety, security, and cleanliness
  • Manage storage logs, track loft kit requests, and maintain orderly storage of equipment and supplies
  • Perform weekly walkthroughs of assigned buildings to remove out-of-date or unauthorized publicity and signage
  • Manage residence hall lost-and-found, process items through the abandoned property protocol, and distribute and manage front desk keys
  • Coordinate the reservation of residence hall lounges and assist with end-of-term building operations activities
  • Respond to emergency situations within the scope of CBM training, including fire alarms, facilities emergencies, and medical concerns
  • Work in an on-call capacity to cover absences at front desks and storage
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and create individualized schedules to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively correspond with staff and students
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, especially Sheets and Forms, or strong motivation to grow in these areas
  • Related work/office experience may include public contact, phone skills, and organizational skills
  • Flexible with co-curricular time commitments to prioritize CBM work and meetings
  • Can be trusted to handle confidential material
