Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Direct the design team in the application of structural concepts, practices, and procedures to achieve project goals.
  • Structural Analysis: Prepare and review finite element models, calculation reports, and structural analysis reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Design Review: Review structural analysis models developed by junior engineers and ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Model Coordination: Coordinate structural models with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
  • Performance Evaluation: Evaluate building and structural system performances, including vibrations, drifts, accelerations, deflections, and load carrying capacities.
  • Construction Documents: Prepare and coordinate construction documents, ensuring design is aligned with other disciplines.
  • Design Coordination: Direct the design team in the application of structural concepts, practices, and procedures to achieve project goals.
  • Code Compliance: Review engineering documents and specifications to ensure code compliance.
  • Investigations: Assess existing structures, determine causes of structural failures, and provide reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages.
  • Construction Administration: Attend project meetings, review structural-related submittals, respond to structural-related RFIs, and review structural-related change orders.
  • Site Visits: Perform site visits and inspections to ensure project progress and quality.
  • Project Management: Maintain project schedules, achieve project deadlines, and ensure project budget is met.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Licensure: Florida P.E. License desired.
  • Experience: 5+ years of design and engineering experience.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of construction materials, extensive knowledge of construction practices and design codes, and proficiency in structural design software.
