Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner
Job Summary:
Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures to patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures
- Provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities
- Exercise sound judgment and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis and physician orders
- Gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and care, and effective communication
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care
Requirements:
- Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- RCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner certification
- RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist certification within 90 days
- CRT-Certified Respiratory Therapist certification within 90 days
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
- 2 years of recent relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Capable of performing routine or emergency respiratory care
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
Work Environment:
This is a part-time position with a variable schedule, working 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing assignments and working within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
