Position Overview:

As an Application Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, creation, and modification of various computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Your role will involve analyzing user requirements and crafting software solutions tailored to enhance operational efficiency.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement software systems in accordance with specifications using suitable tools.
  2. Maintain and update existing software applications.
  3. Evaluate user needs and software requirements to assess the feasibility of designs within specified time and budget constraints.
  4. Conduct custom programming to meet specific business requirements.
  5. Collaborate with other departments regarding project progress, proposals, and technical challenges related to software system design and maintenance.
  6. Oversee software system installation and monitor equipment performance to ensure compliance with specifications.
  7. Develop and manage software system testing and validation protocols, including programming and documentation.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A relevant machine trades certificate/diploma with five years of applicable experience, or ten years of relevant experience. Proven programming capabilities.
  • Proficiency in specific software applications, such as Visual Basic, C++, MS Suite, and CAD/CAM.
  • Strong systems analysis skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with database connectivity in SQL.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably IFS.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and creativity.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
  • Primarily seated, with frequent keyboard use for computer operation.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, or moving about.
  • Ability to lift, move, or transfer items up to 35 lbs. occasionally, and over 20 lbs. frequently.
  • Occasional travel by air or car.
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards may occur.
