Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior EMC Engineer to join our team at TÜV SÜD America. As a key member of our EMC laboratory, you will be responsible for planning and performing EMC tests in accordance with national and international regulatory standards and test procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform EMC tests in a laboratory environment and in situ at customer facilities
  • Provide support to sales staff in preparing quotations and participating in customer kickoff calls
  • Document test results in standardized test reports and review and approve test reports for projects executed by other engineers or technicians
  • Assist in training less experienced technical staff and provide constructive feedback to increase the overall quality of the final product
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design theory, test equipment, and technology
  • Provide support to customers regarding the application of standards, test procedures, and certification requirements
  • Generate revenue by billing engineering time to TÜV SÜD customers
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of test documentation and follow standard lab operating procedures
  • Participate in internal and external audits and promote a positive work environment
Requirements
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of EMC engineering experience, including regulatory testing for the FCC, ISED Canada, and the EU (ETSI)
  • Knowledge of wireless/RF communication systems and protocols, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, 4G, and millimeter wave technologies
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
Working Environment

The physical demands of this role include occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as the ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. The work environment is moderate, with some domestic and international travel required.
