Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the team at CommonSpirit Health as a Patient Care Assistant II Ortho. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support services in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and promote efficient workflow within the unit to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Act as a communication liaison, greeting internal and external customers, and proactively meeting service requests to promote positive customer relations.
  • Provide patient care under the supervision of licensed staff, Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, Unit Manager, or Director of Nursing, including performing electrocardiograph exams, monitoring patients, and admitting/discharging patients from the monitoring system.
  • Maintain designated hospital competencies validated by the Competency Based Orientation (CBO) plan.
  • Demonstrate a strong belief and behaviors consistent with the Saint Joseph Health Mission and Core Values (Reverence, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence).
  • Comply with safety and emergency procedures, organizational policies, and document activities consistent with organizational guidelines.
  • Perform critical/frequent procedures or services, provide care/services based on identified needs, and use required equipment for providing care/services.
  • Consult with organizational resources, demonstrate professional responsibility as per job classification, and demonstrate Core Values Guest Relations/Guest Service Standards.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and Certification from an approved nursing assistant course.
  • Previous experience as a nurse assistant or one completed semester of healthcare-related clinical experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • Adequate conversational English to take direction from management, understand job tasks, communicate with patients and co-workers, understand safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
