Cybersecurity Operations Engineer
Position Overview
As a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing the security posture of our systems through various critical tasks. Your role will include:
- Executing backlog assignments such as remediation tasks, system enhancements, feature integrations, and issue resolutions.
- Assessing modifications to system baselines.
- Updating the Body of Evidence (BOE) with each software release.
- Delivering Tier 2/3 technical support.
- Applying security updates and patches.
- Generating comprehensive technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and analytical assistance to users in addressing organization-wide challenges across various domains.
- Design and create reusable software components, develop custom automation frameworks, and manage existing scripts.
- Propose innovative design solutions and processes, evaluating business operations for potential enhancements.
- Act as a communication bridge with clients and engage in discussions to ensure their requirements are fulfilled.
- Architect, design, implement, support, and assess secure infrastructure-focused tools and services.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, applications, and system management utilities.
- Offer analytical support in the design and execution of intricate systems.
- Formulate solutions by assessing and validating alternative workflow strategies through rigorous testing.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
- Familiarity with agile practices, Infrastructure-as-Code, commercial cloud platforms, and Kubernetes.
Security Clearance Requirement
TS/SCI with CI Poly.
Preferred Skills
- Proficient in tools such as Confluence, GitLab, SonaType, and Coder.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent analytical, communication, writing, and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in IT fundamentals, including server management, networking, database support, infrastructure maintenance, and IT security architecture.
- Capability to operate under tight deadlines, effectively manage tasks, and prioritize responsibilities.
- Adept at investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical challenges.
