Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labor Relations Specialist to join our team at Jackson Lewis P.C. in Boston, MA. As a key member of our labor and employment law practice, you will provide expert advice and representation to employers on traditional labor relations, federal and Massachusetts labor and employment law compliance, and other workplace issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
  • Research and write on labor and employment law topics
  • Represent management in NLRB elections
  • Provide legal advice on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check and neutrality agreements
  • Negotiate and/or provide legal advice on collective bargaining agreements
  • Provide advice on administration of collective bargaining agreements
  • Handle arbitration and unfair labor practice proceedings
  • Obtain mass picketing injunctions
  • Advise employers on federal and Massachusetts labor and employment law compliance
  • Review handbooks, policies and forms for compliance with federal and state law
  • Review compensation, commission and bonus plans
  • Conduct management training on labor relations, federal and Massachusetts workplace issues and harassment, discrimination and retaliation
Requirements
  • JD from accredited law school
  • Minimum of 5 years of traditional labor law experience
  • MA Bar Admission
  • Understanding of current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish, is preferred but not required
