  • Handles Confidential Information: Protect and disclose confidential information to authorized personnel only, maintaining the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Prioritizes Tasks: Assess and analyze information to identify immediate emergency needs, prioritizing tasks accordingly to ensure timely and effective patient care.
  • Demonstrates Technical Knowledge: Maintain current knowledge of departmental procedures and physician on-call schedules to ensure seamless communication with ProHealth Care Physicians.
  • Registers Patients: Enter and update patient demographic and financial information, ensuring patients are fully registered as early in the process as possible.
  • Collects Patient Liabilities: Provide patients with financial responsibility information, collect patient liabilities, and document amounts in the appropriate fields.
  • Works with Partnering Departments: Collaborate with Financial Counseling, Scheduling, Financial Clearance, and clinical areas to ensure all aspects of the patient's encounter are completed as needed.
  • Provides Wayfinding Instructions: Assist patients with hospital information and provide wayfinding instructions as requested.
  • Coordinates Patient Admission: Coordinate patient admission needs, bed assignments, and tracking boards where applicable.
  • Meets Audit Accuracy Standards: Meet or exceed audit accuracy standards, working worklists and error reports timely, and proactively seeking assistance to resolve as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer Service Experience: Have at least 1 year of previous customer service experience in an office setting or professional work environment.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Demonstrate a basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Shift Work: Ability to work 2 shifts per pay period.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical Terminology Knowledge: Possess knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Electronic Medical Records Experience: Have experience with electronic medical records systems.
  • Medical Office Experience: Have experience in a medical office setting.
  • Emergency/High Pressure Situation Handling: Ability to handle emergency/high pressure situations.
