Job Summary:

As an MRI Technologist - Per Diem at Advocate Health, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance equipment to perform diagnostic procedures. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate magnetic resonance equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including routine musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic imaging.
Obtain medical history from patients and compare requisitions to physician's orders to ensure accurate exam procedures.
Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the radiologist.
Position patients and select proper scanning factors to attain high-quality images.
Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images with patient information.
Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
Identify equipment performance issues and perform quality assurance tests and calibration procedures.
Report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff and evaluate new products and equipment.

Requirements:

Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) registration and certification issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 2 years.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
Minimum of 2 years MRI experience.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and magnetic hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
