Job Overview:
The CNA Educational Support Aide plays a vital role in assisting students who require instructional and behavioral support under the guidance of the special education department. This position is crucial in fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives, focusing on academic skills such as math and reading, as well as social and behavioral skills.
- Facilitate teacher-led learning activities, including lesson execution, small group instruction, and social engagement.
- Provide assistance to students in general education settings, ensuring their participation and success.
- Communicate effectively with educators regarding student progress and needs.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as recess and lunch, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all student-related matters, adhering strictly to privacy regulations.
- Support prescribed therapeutic programs in collaboration with health professionals.
- Assist students in developing self-care skills, including personal hygiene and mobility.
- Perform clerical tasks to support teachers, including preparing instructional materials and maintaining an organized classroom.
- Report any changes in student status as directed by educational plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Compliance with professional standards and completion of relevant training programs.
- Current CPR certification and health documentation as required.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators and healthcare professionals.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
