Fleet Maintenance Manager Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance of our fixed route bus operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing maintenance functions, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports. A proven track record of budget management and leadership is essential for this role.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 10+ employees, including fleet technicians, service workers, and cleaners.
  • Oversee the maintenance of 50+ buses, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules and projects.
  • Manage parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff at all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.


Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in managing maintenance functions in a transit bus maintenance shop.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
  • Strong technical knowledge of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • ASE or manufacturer's certifications a plus.
