About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Health Information Specialist to join our team at Datavant. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of patient health information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage patient health information requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records, adhering to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of company and facility software systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to requests from patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with training and development of new staff members and contribute to the growth and success of the team.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to the improvement of processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of experience in health information management or a related field preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and security of patient records.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and role needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in health information management or a related field.
  • Meets and/or exceeds company productivity standards.
  • Previous experience in production/metric-based work environments.
  • In-person customer service experience and ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers.
