A Lead Credit Risk Analyst at First Financial Equipment Leasing will be responsible for evaluating credit associated with substantial corporate entities to support the evolving demands of our organization. This role will report directly to the VP of Credit and will engage closely with the internal sales team, senior leadership, and frequently with significant existing and prospective corporate clients. The primary focus will be on assessing credit extensions ranging from $250K to $25MM, requiring a solid understanding of business operations, as well as the capability to meticulously analyze financial statements and other pertinent information to make well-informed credit evaluations and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of financial documents to prepare detailed credit assessments and evaluations.
  • Review customer credit profiles to identify financial strengths and weaknesses, thereby determining creditworthiness.
  • Draft and present thorough credit evaluations to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate transactional risks linked to specific credit applications.
  • Collaborate with the Sales department during customer due diligence, including direct engagement with clients and potential clients.
  • Deliver credit recommendations to senior management and may oversee Credit Committees.
  • Assist in the syndication of transactions where First Financial Equipment Leasing may manage exposure.
  • Work in conjunction with the VP of Credit to refine our portfolio monitoring processes, update credit policies, and perform various financial modeling tasks.
  • Engage in data analytics and generate reports to support credit decisions and strategic initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of comprehensive credit underwriting experience, including at least three (3) years in large commercial credit underwriting, preferably within the equipment finance and leasing sector.
  • Formal credit training is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in financial modeling.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results efficiently within set timelines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong aptitude for mathematics, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with S&P CapIQ and Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
  • Capacity to work independently in a dynamic environment with minimal oversight.
  • Proactive approach to taking on new projects and seeking opportunities to contribute.
  • Positive demeanor and approach to daily responsibilities.

We provide competitive compensation and benefits, including an annual salary range of $110,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience.
