We are looking for a communications strategist with life science PR agency experience to join our client service team as a Senior Account Executive. This position will be based out of our office in Conshohocken, PA.
The Senior Account Executive (SAE) is a seasoned communications strategist and client counselor with life science PR agency experience directing and driving day-to-day account activities and working with a multidisciplinary team to execute on integrated communications strategies. In this role, the SAE owns and manages a wide range of projects while working alongside a seasoned team to translate complex science into compelling narratives, shaping the stories and strategies that will build value for our clients and help them advance their missions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support clients and account leads by managing projects, timelines and delivering stellar service and a consistent client experience
- Write and edit a variety of materials including press releases, messaging, website and social media content, blog articles, backgrounders, presentations
- Serve as a key day-to-day client contact, responding to client requests and questions, preparing for and participating in client interactions and meetings
- Develop knowledge of clients, the industry, and emerging areas of science
- Anticipate client needs, identify opportunities, provide actionable recommendations to proactively counsel clients under supervision of senior counselors
- Liaise with designers and medical illustrators and team leads to bring science stories to life visually
- Compile and write research and client results reports, internal scientific briefs for client kick-offs and other materials as requested
- Mentor and support Interns, Account Executives and Associate Analysts
- Provide junior staff with guidance and feedback, encouraging growth and good work but also, in addressing work that may need improvement before client/agency review
- May assist with media related functions to include:
- draft media strategies, media lists, and media pitches; schedule media pitches and interviews; develop backgrounders for media interviewing and arrange interviews
- draft and/or revise press releases to make the media aware of announcements and achievements
- write or assist with the process of completing reporters’ information requests
- read and digest all new and traditional media coverage of client companies
- partner with senior management to develop creative strategy and create engaging content to disseminate
- In alignment with our collaborative work environment, there may be other job functions that this role is asked to execute to support team members and the firm overall
Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of healthcare PR agency experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent related experience
- Passion for work in the biotech, health tech or science industries with an innate curiosity about science, technology and the world around you
- Demonstrated ability to “think big” developing new ideas to deliver and delight both our clients and colleagues
- Strong attention to detail while managing projects for multiple accounts with tight deadlines
- Experience in corporate communications, science communications, and/or investor relations a plus
- Excellent written and professional interpersonal communications skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects with a high attention to detail
- Strong research and writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office products and Google applications; comfortable using various business productivity apps (Spaces, Google Meet, Zoom)
