About the Role

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead civil and environmental engineering projects in the Southeast Region. As a key member of our Remediation & Environmental Engineering group, you will work closely with our national Civil Construction group to deliver high-quality projects to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accuracy, budgets, quality, safety, reporting, schedule, and client expectations for civil and environmental engineering projects.
  • Act as a technical resource for civil and environmental engineering projects, providing expertise and guidance to junior staff.
  • Lead multidiscipline engineering design teams for civil and environmental related projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Design stormwater management facilities and features, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, promoting business growth and development.
  • Assist with proposal and cost estimating efforts for civil and environmental engineering projects, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Recruit, develop, and train staff to meet business needs, ensuring a high-performing team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering program from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of related professional experience, with a preference for 15 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering projects.
  • PE License and experience with project management, environmental regulation, and agency coordination (EPA, state agencies, etc.) are preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil and environmental engineering methods, permitting process, and construction compliance.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
