Job Title: Medical Assistant Team Recorder

The Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant Team Recorder to join our team. As a Medical Assistant Team Recorder, you will be responsible for providing clinical support to our healthcare team, including obtaining patient vital signs, administering vaccinations and tuberculin skin tests, and performing infectious disease testing and blood draws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and update treatment plans utilizing a variety of computer programs.
  • Help to create a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment; apply medical and mental health procedures and techniques; demonstrates professional interactions with patients and maintains therapeutic boundaries.
  • Perform clinical duties, including obtaining patient vital signs, height and weight, administering vaccinations and tuberculin skin tests, performing infectious disease testing and blood draws.
  • Attend all trainings, meetings, and committees as directed.
Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California, to practice as a Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:

This position requires you to work within the Secured Treatment Area (STA).

Special Requirements:

You MUST include a copy of your valid Medical Assistant Certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California, to practice as a Medical Assistant.
