Job Title: Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing clinical support to our healthcare team, including obtaining patient vital signs, administering vaccinations, and performing infectious disease testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
  • Administer vaccinations and tuberculin skin tests
  • Perform infectious disease testing, including blood draws
  • Assist with creating and updating treatment plans
  • Provide general administrative support to the healthcare team

Requirements:

  • Valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California, to practice as a Medical Assistant
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a secured treatment area.
