Overview:

The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the comprehensive execution of various projects. Responsibilities encompass financial oversight, scheduling, and technical management in alignment with contractual obligations, project frameworks, and established corporate protocols. Key tasks will involve cost estimation, schedule formulation and forecasting, project strategizing, design analysis, product data research and submissions, meeting preparation and participation, as well as coordination with Quality Control Managers, Site Safety Health Officers, Site Superintendents, and Project Coordinators. The role also includes field execution and project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Pre-Construction Team to facilitate successful project Kick-Offs.
  • Review specifications and maintain the submittal register to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct initial submittal reviews and prepare documentation for Quality Control Manager review.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control Manager and Project Coordinator to manage all project submittal documents.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, and Project Manager in tracking Requests for Information.
  • Support the development and management of project schedules.
  • Act as a secondary liaison with clients and subcontractors/vendors.
  • Monitor project metrics to ensure timely completion within budget and quality standards.
  • Assist in managing financial aspects of projects while safeguarding the company's interests.
  • Support procurement processes including drafting purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
  • Engage in on-site activities to assist the Project Superintendent and Quality Control Manager.
  • Facilitate site access for personnel and subcontractors as needed.
  • Participate in project meetings, preparing agendas and minutes.
  • Assist in updating monthly schedule and invoice documents for client approval.
  • Support project closeout activities, compiling necessary turnover information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management/Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant experience; or
  • Associate's degree in Construction Management/Engineering with 3-4 years of relevant experience; or
  • High School diploma with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively within a cohesive team to achieve project objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal abilities are essential.
  • Capability to represent the company professionally to clients and stakeholders.
  • General knowledge of construction processes, including scheduling, contracts, and financial tracking.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6.

Working Conditions:

  • Light physical effort; ability to lift up to 40 pounds and navigate project sites.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and reach.
  • Travel to project sites may be required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurance requirements.
