About the Job

Brown Surgical Associates is seeking a skilled Surgical Office Assistant to support our medical records department.

This role involves managing medical records, coordinating with clinical staff, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, including test results, correspondence, and office notes.
  • Patient Communication: Respond to patient inquiries via phone, provide clear and concise messages, and direct calls to the appropriate clinical staff.
  • Administrative Support: Order supplies, manage equipment maintenance requests, and reconcile delivery and packing slips.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; minimum of two years' experience in a medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA rules, and guidelines for processing medical releases.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and promote a positive image of the organization.

Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision. The salary range for this position is $42,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience.
