Physician Assistant

About the Position: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team at Spire Orthopedic Partners in Providence, RI.
Responsibilities:
- First Surgical Assistant: Assist experienced surgeons in the operating room, ensuring seamless procedures and optimal patient outcomes.
- Hospital Admissions and Consultations: Conduct thorough evaluations and provide expert guidance on patient care plans.
- Inpatient Rounds: Visit patients in their hospital rooms, addressing their concerns and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Comprehensive Evaluation and Treatment: Assess and treat a wide range of orthopedic injuries and conditions.
- Orders and Interprets Tests/Lab Studies: Accurately interpret medical test results to inform treatment decisions.
- Consults with Physicians: Collaborate with attending physicians to discuss complex cases and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
- Therapeutic Treatments: Administer medications, perform injections, apply casts and splints, and prescribe physical therapy.
- Minor Office/ER Procedures: Conduct routine procedures under the supervision of experienced physicians.
- Patient Education and Support: Provide clear instructions and education to patients and their families.
- Maintaining Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient interactions and treatment plans according to state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Institution
- Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Valid Rhode Island License
- Any combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of this position
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software
