Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting geotechnical and environmental field investigations, monitoring civil and environmental remediation construction projects, and developing, installing, monitoring, and managing geotechnical instrumentation systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting geotechnical and environmental field investigations
- Monitoring civil and environmental remediation construction projects
- Developing, installing, monitoring, and managing geotechnical instrumentation systems
- Using traditional or computer-based technical tools to perform and review engineering calculations
- Supporting landfill and waste containment system design and permitting, environmental remediation, earthquake engineering, and offshore field investigation projects
- Reviewing and interpreting geotechnical data
- Developing construction documents and preparing and reviewing engineering reports
- Writing and reviewing engineering reports
- Supporting proposal preparation, managing projects and tasks, and supporting business and staff development efforts
- Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering
- Advanced degree in geotechnical engineering (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., EIT or P.E.) (preferred)
- At least 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with modeling/design tools such as AUTOCAD, Slide, and PLAXIS (preferred)
- Regular fieldwork and overnight travel
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
- Competitive salary range: $90,000 - $105,000 per year
