Facility Overview - Minneapolis VAMC:

The Minneapolis VA Medical Center is a key facility within the VA system, specializing in the care of active-duty service members and Veterans facing complex medical challenges, including brain injuries and amputations. The center spans 65,000 square feet and is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for Veterans with spinal cord injuries and disorders. Position Responsibilities - Diagnostic Radiology Technologist:
  • Conduct a variety of diagnostic radiography examinations under physician supervision, utilizing all necessary radiographic equipment.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists and medical personnel to produce high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Maintain comprehensive patient records and assist in patient management during procedures.
  • Execute complex radiological procedures in collaboration with Radiologist Fellows, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Utilize knowledge of radiation safety and equipment maintenance to ensure optimal operation of imaging systems.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to any emergencies that may arise.
  • Adapt procedures to meet individual patient needs, ensuring reliable and accurate results.
  • Perform necessary calibrations on X-Ray equipment and operate various imaging technologies.
  • May assist in surgical settings, requiring a thorough understanding of sterile techniques.

Qualifications - Diagnostic Radiology Technologist:
  • Certification: Must hold certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT) (R).
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in the skills required for General DRT, CT DRT, and MRT DRT roles.
  • Education: An academic degree from an accredited Radiology Educational program is required.
  • Additional Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of six (6) months of experience in Diagnostic Radiology Technologies is required.
