Position Overview

This hybrid role allows for telecommuting up to four days a week. The GIS Specialist will engage in advanced geographic information system tasks, particularly in relation to certificates of convenience and necessity (CCN) mapping and electricity supply chain mapping. Responsibilities include:

  • Inputting and manipulating geographic data to create and maintain accurate maps and representations.
  • Collaborating with engineering and analysis teams to support utility infrastructure projects.
  • Utilizing GIS software to maintain boundary maps for various utility services.
  • Responding to requests for geographic data and assisting in the review of service area applications.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A degree in computer science, geography, or a related field.
  • Experience in geographic information systems analysis and design.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a regulatory environment or with utility projects is advantageous. We value teamwork and encourage applicants who have demonstrated project management skills in GIS initiatives.
