Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and assign medical record deficiencies to appropriate providers for completion.
  • Complete medical record suspensions and monitor chart completion for coding.
  • Assist the HIM Director with departmental oversight, monitoring staff productivity, quality, and performance.
  • Perform medical record reviews to screen and examine documentation against regulatory standards, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve documentation issues on accounts to ensure completeness of documentation.
  • Assist physicians with medical record completion and provide education on information technology and documentation requirements.
Requirements
  • Certified Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
  • Proficient computer and work processing skills.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to review errors and problem-solve.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of customers, including physicians, nurses, and patients.
