Caregiver Crisis Respite Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver Crisis Respite to join our team at South Texas College. As a Caregiver Crisis Respite, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our consumers with Intellectual Developmental Disorders (IDD).


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to consumers in a residential setting, including transporting, preparing meals, administering medication, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language.
  • Transport consumers, prepare meals, administer medication, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Adhere to South Texas College's Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards are compromised.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of work experience assisting in therapeutic activities.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and insurability under agency vehicle policy.
  • Age 18 or older.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with IDD diagnoses.
