The Helicopter Maintenance Training Specialist plays a crucial role in aligning maintenance operations with the core values and mission of Reach Medical Holdings. This position is dedicated to providing exceptional internal support, education, and training opportunities in maintenance, guiding aviation mechanic teams towards achieving maintenance excellence and ensuring the highest safety standards. The Specialist will contribute to the creation of maintenance training programs and courses, organize training events, and deliver both scheduled and on-demand training sessions to maintenance staff. Key training areas include hydraulics, fuel systems, powertrains, power plants, rotating controls, and comprehensive airframe knowledge of various helicopters utilized by the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance training documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality, HIPAA, FAA/PRIA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct training for new hires, Aircraft Model Specific, Maintenance tracking software, Aircraft differences, and Base Familiarization.
  • Provide assistance to maintenance personnel regarding general training inquiries and requirements.
  • Support the Maintenance Training Manager in technician training initiatives.
  • Organize factory, recurrent, and continuing education training sessions.
  • Create and manage training classes within the maintenance Learning Management System.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Training Manager to develop and implement recurrent training strategies.
  • Travel across the U.S. as required for training purposes.
  • Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Power Plant License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of helicopter maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in civilian rotorcraft.
  • 2 years of experience in a CFR part 135 HAA environment.
  • Preferred experience in a supervisory, project management, or inspection role.
  • Strong work ethic and proactive initiative.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist team members.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficient in creating presentations and effective proofreading.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience with track and balance on main and tail rotor assemblies.
  • Prior training experience in the rotor wing industry and/or Methods of Instruction training (MOI).
  • Intermediate computer skills, preferably with inventory systems like Ramco.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation abilities.
  • Strong active listening and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Visio.

  • May involve working in a hangar environment with exposure to extreme heat conditions.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Maintenance Training Manager.
