Job Summary

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Clinical Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and reliable patient care across multiple departments and programs. This position is responsible for managing clinical issues, providing direction, and overseeing the day-to-day performance of supervised employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage clinical issues related to quality, safety, reliability, improvement, and excellence in clinical disciplines and programs.
  • Provide direction and oversight to employees supervised, ensuring adherence to SCF's standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and SCF's policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of SCF's programs, services, and cultural competency.
Qualifications

SCF is committed to serving the unique needs of Alaska Native people and American Indian people within our service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of this population.

  • Graduate of an accredited school as appropriate to discipline.
  • Current professional license in the State of Alaska as appropriate to discipline.
  • One of the following degrees is required: BS, RN, ANP, or CNM, PharmD.
  • Current certifications as appropriate for discipline.
  • Meets all requirements for associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice.
Employee Health Requirements

Compliance with SCF's Employee Health Procedure is a condition of employment. Employees are required to agree to comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to their first day of employment.

  • Documentation of completed immunizations prior to first day of employment: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19.
Native Preference

SCF pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting, and training, as required by P.L., as amended.
