We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center. As a CNS, you will play a critical role in supporting, supervising, and evaluating staff new to a clinical setting, while also facilitating a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to healthcare.
Key Responsibilities- Support and supervise staff new to a clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days on the unit.
- Act within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres to promote excellence in nursing care.
- Facilitate a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to healthcare, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement clinical standards of practice and establish competency standards for staff members.
- Conduct and facilitate patient care consultations, providing resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.
- Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
- Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- Current certification in area of specialty (i.e., CEN, CCRN) upon hire.
- 3 years Registered Nursing experience in area of specialty.
- 2 years Clinical Leadership responsibility.
