About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Facilities to join our team at Ivy Tech Community College. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of facilities operations, including planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, design, and construction of capital projects, including renovations and parking projects, to ensure they are completed within budget and in accordance with College procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with campus leadership to develop and implement campus and service area master planning to ensure facilities meet user needs.
  • Analyze and evaluate the infrastructure of the campus, identify maintenance and renovation issues, and recommend project priorities.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operations of facilities, including custodial and grounds services, facility maintenance, and building services.
  • Develop and manage budgets for facilities operations, including capital projects, maintenance, and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory authorities, city and state agencies, regarding issues such as land use, building code/safety issues, accessibility issues, and others.
  • Provide oversight and strategic leadership for maintenance services, custodial and building scheduling services.
  • Foster a positive and productive working environment with a focus on customer service and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Five years related work experience, with experience in project planning, design, and construction required.
  • Experience in higher education preferred, as well as master plan development experience.
  • Significant experience in strategic planning, budgetary and personnel management, and proven commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using standard MS Office software, as well as applications for facilities management systems.
