Key Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner provides nursing and medical services to patients, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases.

The NP functions under established standardized protocols and works autonomously as well as in collaboration with other health care professionals to diagnose and manage clients' health care needs.

This role will be an integral part of a nutrition and obesity research team in the Division of Endocrinology and the Nutrition and Metabolic Core.

The NP would dedicate 50% of their time to performing clinical assessments in close collaboration with faculty researchers in Endocrinology and 50% to conducting oral glucose tolerance tests and blood draws as a service under the Nutrition and Metabolic Core.

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years pediatric clinical and phlebotomy in pediatric patients required. Experience in placing IVs, administering Oral Glucose Tolerance Test, and Research Experience preferred. Bilingual highly desired.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:

Masters of Science degree in Nursing from an N.L.N. accredited graduate school of nursing required. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for "hold out as a Nurse Practitioner" as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code.

Current California Registered Nurse License and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner. BCLS; Furnishing license. AHA BLS/PALS

Pay Scale Information:

$123,136.00-$221,645.00
