Pediatric Care Specialist

As a Pediatric Care Specialist, you will conduct patient assessments, participate in the development of the plan of care, and implement and evaluate care according to patient-specific age and/or developmental needs. You will also ensure the appropriate operation of specialized equipment and collaborate with other healthcare team members in the delivery of care.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as an RN II or III in a tertiary NICU/PICU/CTICU
  • Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures
  • Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally, and effectively, verbally and in writing


Education/Licensure/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; BSN preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California
  • Current American Heart Association CPR certification and PALS card
  • Current American Heart Association NRP card


Required certifications (current card):
  • BLS
  • NRP - after six months
  • ACLS - after six months
  • PALS
  • TNCC - after six months


State License: Required within six months of employment (reimbursable)

Hours: 3/12hr night shifts 7pm - 7am with variable days

Pay Scale Information

$104,832.00-$180,835.00

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
