Compensation:
$80,000 annually
Position Summary:
The Commercial Property Accountant will oversee financial operations for over 1 million square feet of commercial real estate in Florida. This portfolio includes a variety of large-scale restaurants and prominent retail brands. While experience with retail and dining properties is preferred, it is not mandatory. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the regional controller and property management team, demonstrating the ability to meet stringent deadlines and manage properties that are still in development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain comprehensive financial records for the commercial property portfolio.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes in coordination with property management.
- Conduct monthly financial analyses, including budget comparisons, variance assessments, and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end and quarter-end financial documentation.
- Develop the capability to calculate rental income based on monthly sales data.
- Manage all Common Area Maintenance (CAM) billing and reporting tasks.
- Collaborate with the Property Manager and regional controller on lease agreements and negotiations.
- Participate in special projects as directed by the Regional Controller.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial property accounting, particularly with retail and restaurant portfolios.
- Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a composed and efficient manner.
- Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, Timberline, Great Plains, or Lawson is advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
