Position Summary:

The ISP Technician - 2 will be instrumental in the on-site installation of voice, data, and fiber optic cabling systems. This role requires adherence to established protocols during installations and effective communication with clients regarding project status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prepare pathways and supports for new cabling system installations.
  • Pull and install copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cables in various environments.
  • Terminate voice and data jacks from multiple brands, ensuring high-quality connections.
  • Execute termination of data cables on patch panels with proper dressing techniques.
  • Utilize various methods to terminate single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
  • Conduct testing of copper cable installations and troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Assist in testing fiber optic cables using industry-standard equipment.
  • Construct data closets, including the installation of necessary infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians in best practices.
  • Follow industry-standard grounding and bonding procedures.
  • Implement approved fire stopping methods and materials.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess 2-3 years of commercial experience in the low voltage cabling sector, demonstrating the ability to work independently as part of a team.
