Position Overview:
The Surgical Trauma Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. This full-time role operates on a Day Shift schedule (7am-7pm) and offers a competitive sign-on bonus and specialty differential pay.
Unit Details:
The unit comprises 29 beds and caters to a diverse patient demographic, including surgical, trauma, and various medical cases. Common procedures involve gastrointestinal surgeries such as colon and small bowel resections, cholecystectomies, and appendectomies. Additionally, the unit manages vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and maxillofacial operations. Patients may present with ostomies, nasogastric tubes, feeding tubes, and drains.
Trauma patients often arrive with multiple injuries and may require chest tubes, tracheostomies, and other drainage systems, yet are stable enough for admission to a non-ICU/step-down medical-surgical floor. Our facility is recognized as a Level 2 Trauma Center.
Key Responsibilities:
The staff nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care across the lifespan, employing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Adherence to organizational policies and procedures is essential, alongside a commitment to professional development and accountability.
The nurse will maintain high standards of practice while coordinating patient care activities among all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care is delivered.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Required:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Experience:
New graduates of nursing programs are encouraged to apply.
Licensure/Certification:
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia or NLC/eNLC Multistate License is required. BLS certification is mandatory.
Additional Qualifications:
Advanced certification in a specialty area is preferred. A Bachelor's degree in nursing is advantageous. Previous nursing experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
