Job Title: Senior Revenue Accountant

SM Energy Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and posting revenue transactions, performing master data set-up, reviewing monthly analytics, and other related revenue processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process contract allocation, valuation, and post revenue transactions.
  • Perform master data set-up and ensure accurate and timely posting of revenue transactions.
  • Prepare and deliver meaningful financial information, performance metrics, analyses, and reports within functional area.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement best practices and improvements to processes within functional area.
  • Lead and/or participate in department or cross-functional projects/initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study. Master's degree in accounting or related field of study a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience required (8+ years in lieu of education). Oil and gas accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA preferred; APA, CIA, CFE, CGMA or other relevant professional credentials and certifications a plus.
