Job Summary:

The Part-Time Instructor Pool is a pool of qualified instructors who are available to teach courses on a part-time basis. Instructors in this pool will be responsible for teaching a range of courses, including introductory physics, astronomy, and advanced courses in specialized areas of physics.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach a variety of courses in physics, astronomy, and related fields
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in physics, astronomy, or a related field
  • OR Bachelor's degree in physics or astronomy and Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or geophysics
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience teaching physics or astronomy courses
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field
  • Experience teaching at the community college level
  • Strong background in physics education research
