Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Cibola General Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our adult critical care unit, general floors, emergency room, and pulmonary function laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer physician-prescribed therapies, including oxygen, humidification, nebulizers, and aerosols.
  • Set up and regulate mechanical ventilators to breathe for patients who are unable to do so on their own.
  • Perform testing techniques in the pulmonary function laboratory, including flow volume loops, DLCOs, and nitrogen washouts.
  • Participate in the CPR team and assist in airway management and intubations.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education, as well as continuing education to staff.
  • Maintain the respiratory care equipment to the required standard of function and cleanliness.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and establishment of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Associate Science Degree or 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of principles, literature, standard practices, methods, techniques, and new developments in the field of respiratory therapy.
  • Must have passed a national/international administered Respiratory Therapy exam.
  • Must hold one of the following credentials: Registered or Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT, CRT).
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be licensed by the New Mexico Occupational Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Possess current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of post-graduate experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in critical care.
  • One (1) year of experience in pediatrics.
  • Some Emergency Room experience.
  • ACLS certified.
