Job Summary

Cibola General Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and treatment in our adult critical care unit, general floors, emergency room, and pulmonary function laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administer physician-prescribed therapies, including oxygen, humidification, nebulizers, aerosols, and CPT, to patients with respiratory conditions.
  2. Set up and regulate mechanical ventilators to breathe for patients who are unable to do so on their own.
  3. Perform testing techniques in the pulmonary function laboratory, including flow volume loops, DLCOs, and nitrogen washouts.
  4. Participate in the CPR team and assist in airway management and intubations.
  5. Provide patient and caregiver education, as well as continuing education to staff.
  6. Maintain the respiratory care equipment to required standards of function and cleanliness.
Requirements
  • Associates Science Degree or 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of principles, literature, standard practices, methods, techniques, and new developments in the field of respiratory therapy.
  • Must have passed a national/international administered Respiratory Therapy exam.
  • Must hold one of the following credentials: Registered or Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT, CRT).
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be licensed by the New Mexico Occupational Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Possess current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) year post-graduate experience.
  • One (1) year experience in critical care.
  • One (1) year experience in pediatrics.
  • Some Emergency Room experience.
  • ACLS certified.
