Job Summary:Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Child Protection Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional clinical care to infants, children, and young adults with acute and chronic health conditions.
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive health histories, physical assessments, and plan care for patients.
- Utilize advanced assessment skills to manage a cohort of patients.
- Order and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, and perform other therapeutic or corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status.
- Formulate family-centered plans of care and perform daily documentation as necessary.
- Collaborate and coordinate care with other team members.
- Collect and analyze data as needed.
- Perform advanced procedures associated with credentialing processes.
- Utilize evidence-based practice for plan of care and adapt to family needs and effectiveness.
- Serve as an educational resource to patient/family/nursing staff/provider team and other healthcare teams as needed.
- Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competences, certifying body renewals, seeking educational offerings when available, and participating in the professional development of others.
- Act as a preceptor/mentor for those new in the department.
- Demonstrate commitment to patient safety by bringing up concerns in an appropriate manner, reporting through appropriate channels, and ensuring change of practice when necessary.
- Arizona NP License or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Pediatric NP preferred.
- Previous experience in child advocacy, child maltreatment required.
