Job Summary:

Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Child Protection Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional clinical care to infants, children, and young adults with acute and chronic health conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive health histories, physical assessments, and plan care for patients.
  • Utilize advanced assessment skills to manage a cohort of patients.
  • Order and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, and perform other therapeutic or corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status.
  • Formulate family-centered plans of care and perform daily documentation as necessary.
  • Collaborate and coordinate care with other team members.
  • Collect and analyze data as needed.
  • Perform advanced procedures associated with credentialing processes.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice for plan of care and adapt to family needs and effectiveness.
  • Serve as an educational resource to patient/family/nursing staff/provider team and other healthcare teams as needed.
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competences, certifying body renewals, seeking educational offerings when available, and participating in the professional development of others.
  • Act as a preceptor/mentor for those new in the department.
  • Demonstrate commitment to patient safety by bringing up concerns in an appropriate manner, reporting through appropriate channels, and ensuring change of practice when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Arizona NP License or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Pediatric NP preferred.
  • Previous experience in child advocacy, child maltreatment required.
