Key Responsibilities:

Tactical Training Specialists are responsible for providing instruction in alignment with the Navy's Antiterrorism and Weapons Training Program. This encompasses a variety of training modules, including:

  • Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor (SAMI)
  • Antiterrorism Training Supervisor (AT TRASUP)
  • Advanced Security Reaction Force (SRF-A)
  • Basic Armed Sentry/Security Reaction Force (AS/SRF-B)
  • Submarine Force Sentry (SUBFOR Sentry)
  • Submarine Force Crew Served Weapons Instructor (SUBFOR CSWI)
  • Crew Served Weapons Operations and Maintenance (CSW O)
  • Non-Lethal Weapons Basic Instructor (NLW-BI)
  • Non-Lethal Weapons Senior Instructor (NLW-SI)
  • Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure Boarding Officer (VBSS BO)
  • Non-Compliant Boarding, Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (NCB VBSS)

Instructor Duties:

  • Facilitate the delivery of CENSECFOR AT/NSF Course of Instruction in accordance with the contract Performance Work Statement (PWS), including instructional, operational, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Instructors are expected to be prepared to teach assigned content and successfully complete any associated assessments in line with the contractor's internal quality assurance standards.
  • All instructors must be well-versed in presentation techniques, delivery methods, assessment and remediation processes, curriculum, training aids, devices, and equipment operation and maintenance relevant to their instructional area.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

All instructor personnel must meet the instructional qualifications outlined in this section. Instructors should possess one of the following:

  • Completion of the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) or a military service equivalent.
  • Academic credentials in education (teacher/professor).

Specific Requirements for Tactical Training Specialists:

  • A minimum of two years of military experience in a weapons-carrying operational environment or equivalent experience as a Law Enforcement officer within a military or civilian security force.
  • A foundational understanding of Military/Civilian Security Force methodologies.
  • Certification as a Small Arms Weapons (SAMI) Instructor.

Instructor Training Requirements:

Academic training should encompass, at a minimum, the following learning objectives:

  • Effective communication and questioning techniques.
  • Principles of adult learning theory.
  • Instructional delivery methodologies.
  • Performance laboratory for lesson delivery.
  • Management of training environments.
  • Interpersonal skills development.
  • Evaluation and feedback mechanisms.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • GED/High School Diploma
