Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Technical Associate to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will excel in advanced programming, business process analysis, and systems integration with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop complex retrieval and update programs using SQL for application-specific purposes including sub-system feeds, system integration, and web applications.
  • Create interactive reports for production ITS internal and external purposes.
  • Utilize advanced programming techniques and tools, including PL/SQL, MicroFocus COBOL, and C.
  • Analyze and design business processes, ensuring seamless integration between systems.
  • Employ SQL tuning skills to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Generate comprehensive program documentation and end-user instructions.
  • Complete production control forms and other internal documentation.
  • Develop and maintain web applications using Java, JavaScript, XML, CSS, and intermediate HTML.
  • Perform intermediate Apex programming and advanced interactive Argos reporting.
  • Create test plans, execute program testing, document results, and debug programs.
  • Coordinate with clients for review and approval of test plans.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with TOAD, secure FTP, and common desktop applications (Word, Excel, MS Access).
  • Use WS-FTP for remote server connections and Remote Desktop as necessary.
  • Utilize CougarNet support through WebTailor and perform Unix shell scripting.
  • Provide 24/7 support for production programs and procedures.
  • Utilize advanced Ellucian Hub navigation skills and problem-resolution techniques.
  • Conduct program feasibility studies, analysis, design, and code reviews.
  • Understand and apply business rules, data security standards, and system dependencies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any combination that totals six years from the following:
  • 60 semester hours or an Associate Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • 90-120 semester hours or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, CMIS or related field.
  • Four years of experience in relational database programming (SQL and PL/SQL) and analysis, with exposure to HTML, CSS, Java, Java scripting, XML, C, data architecture and database relational design.
  • Four years of experience with any of the following operating systems: Unix, Linux, Windows Server.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both clients and technical team members.
  • Ability to develop, design and/or comprehend specifications of increasingly difficult processes and applications.
  • Ability to immediately respond and support critical applications on 24x7 basis.
  • Certification as an Oracle Developer is a plus.
  • Must be able to work and contribute in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and flexible in accepting duties and direction.
  • Must demonstrate ability to apply technical programmatic solutions with minimal supervision.
