Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for executing procedures in assigned areas of the laboratory to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to aid healthcare providers in diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of disease.
  • Conduct a variety of basic and complex laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, specimen processing, quality control, quality assurance, and waived, moderate, or high-complexity testing.
  • Manage blood inventory, prepare blood products, and issue blood products for transfusion (if assigned to the Transfusion Service).
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and maintain the highest level of safety and reliability in testing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related science.
  • CA Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • 2 years of experience as a CLS Generalist Trainee or a Limited CLS Trainee.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and technical competence in routine specimen collection, preparation, testing applications, laboratory operations, and quality assurance in one or more assigned clinical specialty areas.
  • Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks.
  • Ability to compassionately and effectively interact with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs, and behaviors.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position with a variable schedule, including rotating weekends. The pay range is $59.98 to $74.96 per hour, and the position is non-exempt.
