Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $42,000 - $54,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. As a Healthcare Support Professional - Patient Care Specialist, you will have the opportunity to earn a 10% float pool differential and may be eligible for up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment.
Job Description
As a Healthcare Support Professional - Patient Care Specialist, you will provide routine patient care and support services to ensure the highest degree of quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assuming responsibility for assignments and viewing problems as challenges
- Providing direct resident/patient care as directed by the RN and LPN, including all activities of daily living
- Maintaining an environment conducive to resident/patient safety and recovery
- Responding to resident/patient needs and calls in a timely manner
- Acquiring and distributing supplies and equipment to facilitate resident/patient care delivery
- Delivering resident/patient nourishments and assisting with feeding as needed
- Performing routine tests such as resident weights, vital signs, and Intake & Output
- Providing feedback to the RN/LPN regarding resident/patient care and reporting changes in resident/patient status
- Assuring equipment malfunctions are reported to the appropriate department
- Contributing to the universal unit activities
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful as a Healthcare Support Professional - Patient Care Specialist, you will need to have:
- Completion of a certified nursing program (CNA) or equivalent
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of general healthcare experience or equivalent
- CPR certification
