Position Overview

The Senior Sales Consultant for Crop Protection is tasked with expanding the market presence of crop protection solutions within a specified region. This role involves generating demand for Bayer's crop protection products among retailers, dealers, and leading agricultural producers, while achieving set annual targets within the designated territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and exceed sales targets for Bayer products in collaboration with fellow team members;
  • Formulate and execute business strategies with dealers, overseeing proactive forecasting, inventory management, and addressing product demand challenges;
  • Act as a primary business advisor to retailers and dealers, effectively communicating the value of Bayer Crop Science offerings;
  • Showcase product performance in comparison to competitors, leveraging expertise in Bayer brands and agronomic knowledge;
  • Work closely with team members, including Field Sales Representatives, Customer Business Advisors, and Agronomists, to optimize service delivery and sales to key accounts;
  • Manage inventory issues to ensure alignment with business objectives while anticipating market demands;
  • Collect and analyze market and competitive data to inform strategic decisions;
  • Develop and propose strategies for achieving both long-term and short-term business goals for key accounts;
  • Oversee budget management, ensuring compliance with Bayer's financial policies;
  • Continuously enhance personal selling skills and product knowledge while mentoring junior team members;
  • Ensure successful execution of marketing initiatives and program fulfillment;
  • Lead partnerships with team members to foster relationships with top agricultural producers and retailers;
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to less experienced sales representatives;
  • Handle claims management in accordance with Bayer's policies through effective problem-solving and resource management;
  • Travel as required to fulfill responsibilities, primarily within the assigned region;
  • Drive growth in market share for Crop Protection, Seed, and Trait products.
Candidate Profile

Bayer seeks individuals who possess the following qualifications:

Essential Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Proven initiative and ability to deliver results;
  • Solid business acumen and strategic planning capabilities;
  • Expertise in financial and territory management;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • Strong analytical skills with a digital mindset;
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to rural working conditions;
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • 6+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or account management within agriculture, or equivalent experience;
  • Preferred knowledge of products, portfolios, and agronomic practices.
