Role Responsibilities

The Vascular Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner operates in an outpatient setting, collaborating closely with attending surgeons while also managing independent patient sessions. This role demands a high degree of autonomy in treating patients with vascular conditions, including venous disease, edema, and lymphedema. Flexibility is essential during busy clinic hours, and the practitioner must be adept at identifying situations that necessitate escalated care.

The Advanced Practitioner will oversee a patient panel focused on venous disorders, which encompasses pre-procedure assessments, post-procedure follow-ups, and new consultations. Common conditions treated include varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, edema, and lymphedema, along with procedures such as vein injections and sclerotherapy. Additional duties involve reviewing imaging results, assisting with patient triage, addressing clinical inquiries, conducting wound checks, and providing comprehensive vascular care.

Qualifications

Required Credentials

· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master's program.

· Preferred two years of relevant experience.

· Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut.

· Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), or Physician Assistant (PA).

· Experience in vascular, arterial, cardiac, or outpatient settings is highly desirable.
