Surgical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Valley View Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and promoting a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes
- Administer medications, perform clinical treatments, and collect specimens as needed
- Monitor patient vital signs and condition during surgical procedures, communicating effectively with the care team and surgeon
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, and referral
- Evaluate patient learning needs and provide education to promote health and well-being
- Work as an advocate for patient physical and emotional well-being, initiating emergency resuscitative measures as needed
- Monitor the sterile field and surgical environment to prevent infection, adhering to Universal Protocol and participating in patient safety initiatives
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure in Arizona or multistate license from a recognized compact state acceptable to Arizona
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; CNOR preferred
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
