Role Responsibilities for the Vascular Advanced Practitioner

The Vascular Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner operates in an outpatient setting, working alongside an attending surgeon while also managing independent patient sessions. This role demands a high degree of autonomy in the management of patients with vascular conditions, including venous disease, edema, and lymphedema. Flexibility is essential during busy office hours, and the practitioner must be adept at identifying situations that necessitate escalated care.

The practitioner will oversee a patient panel focused on venous conditions, which includes pre-procedure assessments, post-procedure follow-ups, and new consultations. Conditions managed may include varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, edema, and lymphedema, along with procedures such as vein injections and sclerotherapy. Additional duties encompass following up on imaging results, assisting with triage for new patients, addressing clinical inquiries, conducting wound checks, and providing comprehensive vascular care.

Benefits of the Advanced Practitioner Role

· A supportive, family-oriented culture with approachable providers committed to collaborative, value-based patient care.
· Access to a team of six ambulatory vascular Advanced Practice Providers specializing in both venous and arterial care.
· Comprehensive one-on-one training with experienced mentors passionate about teaching.
· Opportunities for continuing education through CME programs and participation in service line conferences.
· No on-call responsibilities.
· Involvement in research, quality improvement initiatives, and enhancing patient experiences.
· A well-organized office staff dedicated to providing the necessary resources for success.
· Competitive salary and benefits package.
· Reimbursement for CME, professional memberships, licensure, and malpractice insurance.
· Access to state-of-the-art clinical and informatics technology.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications for Advanced Practitioners

· Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master's program.
· Preferred experience of at least 2 years.
· Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut.
· Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
· Preferred experience in vascular, arterial, cardiac, or outpatient settings.

We prioritize career development.

With multiple locations throughout the state, Hartford HealthCare offers numerous opportunities for professional growth and advancement. Every moment matters, and this is your opportunity to make a difference.
