As a pivotal leadership role, we are in search of a candidate who will oversee a segment of our portfolio, implement strategic growth initiatives, enhance retention rates, and build strong relationships with brokers and clients.
The Corporate Accounts team is responsible for the growth and placement of coverage lines for clients with revenues exceeding $750M, including:
Cyber, Technology Errors & Omissions, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Manufacturers Errors & Omissions, and Employed Lawyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of underwriting professionals to execute growth strategies aligned with our Professional Liability and Cyber Growth Plans.
- Implement strategies in accordance with underwriting objectives to achieve financial targets, focusing on rate management, retention, new business production, and other key performance indicators relevant to the Professional Liability & Cyber Business Unit.
- Oversee the renewal book of business while fostering new strategic partnerships.
- Develop, mentor, and coach a team of underwriters.
- Manage relationships with both internal (Claims, Actuary, Finance, etc.) and external (brokers and clients) stakeholders.
- Assist Underwriters with transaction management, ensuring timely responses for referrals and underwriting authority.
- Cultivate relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify service improvement opportunities that enhance commercial viability and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in and lead leadership team meetings to provide expert guidance and facilitate the implementation of policies, projects, and change initiatives.
- Contribute to the business growth strategy by aligning underwriting practices with broader business objectives.
- Supervise development plans for underwriters to ensure the necessary capabilities are in place to drive business outcomes.
- Recommend and execute action plans based on evaluations of broker partner business portfolios and profit/growth trends.
This position may be filled at either the Underwriting Manager I or Underwriting Manager II level, depending on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
Basic Qualifications:
For Professional Liability and Cyber Underwriting Manager II:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 7+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles focused on Cybersecurity, Finance, or Management Consulting.
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent with 14+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles related to Cybersecurity or Management Consulting.
AND - 2+ years of management experience.
For Professional Liability and Cyber Underwriting Manager I:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles focused on Cybersecurity, Finance, or Management Consulting.
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles related to Cybersecurity, Finance, or Management Consulting.
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 8+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.

- Bachelor's Degree.
- Advanced knowledge of cyber and professional liability product lines.
