Senior Project Manager, AI Capabilities Evaluation

Job Summary

RAND's Technology and Security Policy Center has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to support the AI Capabilities Evaluation (ACE) team in analyzing the capabilities of frontier AI systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational planning and execution of the ACE project, managing budgets and timelines to ensure the project is on track.
  • Coordinate with TASP directors, project leaders, and GRT to help staff and budget the ACE project.
  • Work with the ACE project leaders to complete and track products and publications through the QA and publications process.
  • Develop and execute ACE project events, working closely with RAND facilities and support personnel.
  • Initiate and track subcontracts, independent service agreements, supplier service agreements, and purchase orders.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work with and create teams, including both junior and senior members.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement strategic operational improvements.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to develop diverse teams and foster an inclusive work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Education and Experience

Minimum: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred. 8 years minimum, 10 years preferred.

Security Clearance

US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance. Ability to obtain clearance is not required but preferred.

Location

Washington DC (preferred), Pittsburgh, PA; Santa Monica, CA, or Boston, MA. While a hybrid/flex work arrangement is preferred, fully remote work may be considered within the United States.

Salary Range

$100,100 - $179,700
